Wonderama was a popular show for children that included a popular dance segment based on American Bandstand. Other popular segments included “Does Anyone Here Have an Aardvark,” in which the show’s host would ask members of the audience to produce unusual objects. Wonderama also included block building contests, in which the energetic host would knock down the blocks of the leading competitor in order to tighten the competition. Sometimes there would be chalkboard contests, in which the kids were expected to identify abbreviations. There was also an exercise segment, which had its own catchy theme song.

Bob McAllister, the host of Wonderama, sang the show’s theme, “Kids Are People Too.” In the later incarnation of Wonderama, this became the new name of the show.
