TV Show Plot For Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman

Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman focused on the life of its title character, who was played by Louise Lasser. She is married to Tom, who was portrayed by Greg Mullavey.

Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman got its idiosyncratic title from the show’s creators, who thought that everything that is said on a soap opera is usually repeated for melodramatic effect. While the show was essentially a satire, it was so controversial that most stations would only air it late at night. The show dealt head on with the same subjects as daytime soap operas, but while the daytime programs would politely by pass the subject by not naming it aloud, Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman would call the subject by its name. Sexual perversion and impotence were all addressed in a highly comical way.
