TV Show Plot For Love Boat, The

The Love Boat was set on the Pacific Princess, a cruise liner on which passengers and crew members would experience a wealth of comedic adventures week after week. Other ships used on the show include the Island Princess, the Royal Princess, The Stella Solaris, the Royal Viking Sky, and the Pearl of Scandinavia. The cruises went everywhere from the Caribbean to China.

The Love Boat distinguished itself by utilizing a rotating cast of famous guest stars, many of whom were major movie stars of yesteryear who rarely made television appearances. Love American Style utilized the same format a decade earlier, but The Love Boat was the most successful show to do this. The show would inspire numerous future series, including Masquerade and Supertrain.

The Love Boat was one of the first American television shows to utilize a laugh track.
