TV Show Plot For Eight Is Enough

The TV show Eight is Enough was about a Sacramento, California family that included eight children. Father Tom Bradford was a columnist for a fictional Sacramento newspaper, while his wife Joan stayed home to take care of the kids. The actress playing Joan, Diana Hyland, fell ill and died shortly in to the first season. In the second season, Tom it is revealed that Tom has become a widower.

Eventually, Tom fell in love with Abby, a tutor for the children, and remarried. Abby went on to get her PhD and began counseling students at a local high school. Later in the series, Ralph Macchio played cousin Jeremy. Eight is Enough would launch Macchio’s career, securing teen idol status for him and landing him a role in The Karate Kid.
