Bonanza’s story centered around the Cartwrights, a family headed by the wise widower Ben Cartwright (Lorne Greene). His three sons include the smart but moody Adam (Pernell Roberts), the fun loving Eric or “Hoss” (Dan Blocker), and the hot tempered “Little Joe” (Michael Landon). Victor Sen Yung played the family’s Chinese immigrant cook, Hop Sing.
