Television Show Summary

The 70's TV show 240 – Robert ran for a single season on the ABC network towards the end of the decade. The TV series explored the life of a search and rescue team called "240 – Robert" working for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

TV Show Plot For 240 Robert

Rick Rosner of CHIPs fame created 240 – Robert in the late 1970s. The show starred John Bennett Perry as “Trap” or Deputy Theodore Roosevelt Applegate III. A young Mark Harmon also appeared on the program as “Thib” or Deputy Dwayne Thibideaux. The cast was rounded out by Joanna Cassidy, who portrayed the unit’s helicopter pilot, Deputy Morgan Wainwright.

Once their contracts were up, Harmon and Cassidy both left the show after only thirteen episodes. They were replaced by Stephan Burns and Pamela Hensley as Deputy Brett Cueva and Deputy Sandy Harper, respectively. After three episodes featuring this new line up, ABC cancelled 240 – Robert due to poor ratings.

Despite its short run, 240 – Robert is warmly remembered for being one of the more exciting emergency series of the 1970s, alongside Adam 12 and Emergency!
