The movie Dawn of the Dead is the sequel to Night of the Living Dead. It tells the story of a terrible malady that has effected the entire United States of America wherein the dead are brought back to life to feast upon the living. Four of the remaining survivors have shacked up inside a shopping mall. They include a pregnant television executive, her traffic reporter boyfriend, and two members of the Philadelphia SWAT team. Who will manage to survive the Dawn of the Dead?

This is one of George A. Romero’s most critically acclaimed films, not merely for its gruesome special effects provided by Tom Savini, but for its biting critique of consumerism in America. Dawn of the Dead won a Saturn Award as well as a Golden Screen Award in Germany.
