Ohio Players -The original line up included Robert Ward on guitar and lead vocals, bassist Marshall “Rock Jones,” drummer Cornelius Johnson, guitarist and saxophonist Clarence “Satch” Satchell, and brass player Ralph “Pee Wee” Middlebrooks.... Kansas -Kansas had its roots in another band by the name of The Reasons Why, which featured Dan Wright, Lynn Meredith, Kerry Livgren, and Don Montre. The Reasons Why eventually became Saratoga, at which point they began playing original material penned by Livgren. At this point, bassist Scott Kessler and drummer Zeke Lowe were added to the line up. Later, ... Three Dog Night -The band got their name from an Indigenous Australian expression for a night so cold that one needs to sleep in a bed with three dogs. Supposedly, the girlfriend of Danny Hutton saw a documentary on television that discussed the custom. Hence, Three Dog Night was born.... | ||||||||
