Labelle -The band was fronted by Patti LaBelle, who would later go on to have a successful career as a solo artist. The group’s other members included Sarah Dash and Nona Hendryx, who would go on to become renowned as songwriters.... Isley Brothers -The Isley Brothers have incorporated such diverse musical elements as adult contemporary, funk, rock, rhythm and blues, doo wop, soul, gospel, and hip hop into their trademark sound. The group’s earliest hit singles included “Twist & Shout,” “Nobody But Me,” and “Shout!” This music would lay the groundwork for 1960s popular music.... Clint Holmes -Holmes studied music at Fredonia State College, but left to enlist during the Vietnam War. He spent three years (1967-1969) singing in the United States Army Chorus. Afterwards, he remained in Washington, D.C., where he would launch his civilian career. He began touring the East Coast, singing in nightclubs throughout the region.... | |||||||||
