Four Seasons Artist Bio and LyricsLater known as Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, the Four Seasons were a well known pop group. They distinguished themselves from other pop groups of the 1960s with their distinctly Italian-American sounds. They started off mixing pop with doo wop music, before emerging on the international stage as a formidable rock and roll band.
The Four Seasons was formed in the early 1960s. Their original line up consisted of singer Frankie Valli, keyboardist and tenor Bob Gaudio, guitarist and baritone singer Tommy DeVito, and bassist and bass vocalist Nick Massi, who would later be replaced by Joe Long. They would score their first hit in the year 1962, “Sherry.” Thanks to the guidance of producer Bob Crewe, the Four Seasons would score a number of well known hits throughout the following decade, including “Dawn,” “Candy Girl,” “Save It For Me,” “Walk Like a Man,” and “Big Girls Don’t Cry.” The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducted the Four Seasons in the year 1990. Nine years later, they were inducted in to the Vocal Group Hall of Fame. The albums of the Four Seasons include Sherry & 11 Others, Four Seasons’ Greetings, Big Girls Don’t Cry and Twelve Others, Ain’t That a Shame & 11 Others, Folk Nanny, Half and Half, Chameleon, Who Loves You, Helicon, Reunited – Live with Frankie Valli, Born to Wander, Dawn (Go Away) and 11 Other Great Songs, Rag Doll, Streetfighter, Anthology, Hope & Glory, The Beatles Vs.
