Eddie Rabbitt Artist Bio and LyricsThe 70's country music singer Eddie Rabbitt was born on the 27th of November 1941. In the course of his life, Eddie Rabbitt managed to score over two dozen Number One hits. He played a key role in the development of the crossover sound in country and pop throughout the 1970s and 1980s.
While he was born in Brooklyn, Eddie Rabbitt grew up in East Orange, New Jersey. His career would begin in the 1960s, when he recorded music for both Columbia and 20th Century Records. His songwriting career was launched in the 1970s, when Rabbitt relocated to Nashville, Tennessee. There, he would attain prominence when Elvis Presley recorded a song he wrote by the name of “Kentucky Rain.” It would go on to become one of the King’s most popular songs. In the year 1974, Rabbitt was signed to Elektra. Two years later, Eddie Rabbitt scored his first country hit with “Drinkin’ My Baby (Off My Mind).” Other major Eddie Rabbitt hits include “Every Which Way But Loose” and “You Don’t Love Me Anymore.” Eddie Rabbitt died of lung cancer in the year 1998.
