David Soul Artist Bio and LyricsBorn David Richard Solberg in Chicago in 1943, David Soul is a British singer and actor who is best known for his role on the 1970s television show Starsky and Hutch. Soul first came to prominence in a role on the television show Here Come the Brides and later as the law partner of Arthur Hill on Owen Marshal: Counselor at Law. He would also make appearances on such television programs as The Streets of San Francisco, Star Trek, World War III, Gunsmoke, and I Dream of Jeannie. He co-starred with Clint Eastwood in the 1973 film Magnum Force.
With another career as a singer – including two Number One hits under his belt, Soul relocated to Great Britain and later became a British citizen. He is known to be a major fan of British football. Soul has been married several times and has six children. He also had a long term relationship with Alexa Hamilton. Soul’s brother, Daniel Solberg, is a Lutheran pastor in San Francisco. In 2004, Soul played the title role in Jerry Springer – The Opera in London’s West End. He also appeared in Agatha Christie’s Poirot – Death On the Nile that year. He is currently back on stage, playing the role of Mack in Mack and Mabel at the Criterion Theatre.
