Dan Hill Artist Bio and LyricsBorn Daniel Hill, Jr. in Toronto, Canada on June 3, 1954, Dan Hill is a popular 70's Canadian singer and songwriter. He is perhaps best known for his hit single “Sometimes When We Touch,” which was released in the year 1977.
While Dan Hill would go on to score a few minor hits on the Billboard charts, none of his songs ever captured the success of his first smash hit. He began focusing more on his songwriting, penning a number of songs for other artists. Despite his limited success in the United States, Hill continued to score hits on the Canadian market throughout the 1980s. “Helpless” and “Love in the Shadows” are two of his most popular songs from this era. Then, in the late 1980s, Hill would make a triumphant return to the Billboard Top 40 charts with “Can’t We Try,” a duet with Vonda Shepard, who was not well known at the time. His last major hit in America was “Never Thought (That I Could Love).” Throughout the 1990s, Hill continued to record music. In Canada, he had several more hit songs during the decade, including 1991’s “I Fall All Over Again.” The albums of Dan Hill include Dan Hill, Hold On, Longer Fuse, Frozen in the Night, If Dreams Had Wings, Partial Surrender, Love in the Shadows, Dan Hill (1987), Real Love, Dance of Love, Let Me Show You (Greatest Hits and More), I’m Doing Fine, and Love of My Life (The Best of Dan Hill). |
